Understanding M/media (2) revolves around the ideas of media culture, surveillance and technology being the core principles of the society of control.
This work uses a CCTV to produce live-footage of the exhibition space. The footage is projected in large-scale, rotating across the space.
The work was accompanied by another filmic work titled The Digital Panopticon Manifestation (2015). It was produced by layering the footages recorded by Understanding Media (2014). Together, the video work and Understanding M/media (2015) suggests to the viewer the dystopian perspective on technology, of how surveillance footages are shown to the audience as a form of mass entertainment.
